What People Have Told Us

Wanchai Phromsombat

Hat Yai, Songkhla

I used the learning series after my father passed away and I had no idea what steps were involved or who to contact first. The sessions were calm, unhurried, and genuinely useful. I came away knowing what questions to ask and who to ask them to. That made a real difference at a difficult time.

The document inventory session was something I had been putting off for years. Piyawut walked me through everything without making me feel overwhelmed. The template we built together is exactly what I needed β€” simple enough that I can actually maintain it myself. My only comment is that I wish I had done it sooner.

My mother completed the Lasting Memories Workshop as part of planning for the future. She was hesitant at first β€” she did not think her stories were worth recording. Nattaya's approach was so gentle and patient that by the third session, she was talking freely about things she had not thought about for decades. The letters she produced are remarkable.

What I appreciated most was that they were honest about what they could and could not help with. When it became clear I needed a formal legal step, they pointed me toward the right type of professional rather than trying to stretch beyond their scope. That honesty built real trust with me.

The learning series helped me understand things I had been confused about for a long time. The glossary is something I have shared with two siblings β€” it saved us a great deal of time and some unnecessary worry. The format was straightforward, not academic. I could follow it without any special background.

I joined the workshop by video from Bangkok. The remote session worked well β€” the facilitator adapted to the format easily and I never felt disconnected. It was the right service at the right time for me. I had wanted to write things down for my family for several years and just never found the structure to do it.

Case Studies

Three Family Journeys

Document Inventory β€” Songkhla Province

The Challenge

An elderly woman in Hat Yai had accumulated 40 years of household documents without any system. Her adult children, based in different cities, had no clear picture of what existed or where anything was held. A health event made the situation feel pressing.

The Work

Two working sessions with Piyawut to go through documents by category. A personalised, labelled inventory template was created. Clear guidance was given on which categories might need attention from a qualified professional. Remote follow-up session included.

The Outcome

Within three weeks, the family had a complete, labelled inventory. Two of the adult children could access a shared version. The template has been updated twice independently since sessions ended. Time spent: approximately three weeks.

"I did not realise how much relief I would feel just from knowing what we had and where things were." β€” Family member, Hat Yai

Learning Series β€” Hat Yai

The Challenge

A man in his fifties needed to understand the inheritance process following the death of his parent. He had received conflicting advice and felt uncertain about even the basic sequence of what should happen and who was responsible for what.

The Work

Two structured sessions covering the general stages of estate administration in Thailand, common document types, and the roles of different types of professionals. Glossary provided for ongoing reference. Official government information sources identified.

The Outcome

The participant left with a clear picture of the general process and confidence about what questions to ask his solicitor. He described the experience as removing significant mental strain. Duration: two sessions across one week.

"I felt like I had been trying to navigate somewhere without a map. The sessions gave me that map." β€” Workshop participant, Hat Yai

Lasting Memories Workshop β€” Remote Participant

The Challenge

A woman in her late sixties from Satingphra had been encouraged by her daughter to record her life story and values. She felt uncomfortable with the idea of talking about herself and had little experience with structured writing of any kind.

The Work

Six sessions over five weeks with Nattaya, using reflective writing prompts around childhood, family, values, and messages for grandchildren. Conducted by video call. Drafts reviewed between sessions. Materials compiled into a handcrafted format.

The Outcome

She produced six personal letters and a short family memoir in her own words. Her daughter described receiving them as one of the most meaningful gifts she had ever been given. Duration: five weeks across six sessions.

"I kept thinking I had nothing interesting to say. I was completely wrong about that." β€” Workshop participant, Satingphra
